Meet Kythera AI at the AI & Games Conference

We’re excited to share that we will be attending and presenting at the AI and Games Conference on November 3rd and 4th, and would love to meet you in person. If you’re attending or in the area, feel free to book a time with us to discuss your current projects and explore how Kythera AI can level up your game AI!

Meet Bram Ridder, our Technical Director, for a technical discussion about Kythera AI.

Navigation highlights

To celebrate our upcoming talk, we’re excited to give you a closer look at some of Kythera AI's navigation technology.

Automated Navigation Links Generator

Elevate your characters' traversal of the environment with Kythera AI's automated navigation link generator. Empower your designers by injecting custom Navigation link generators to support your characters’ and game's unique traversal capabilities.

Automated Cover Generator

Design and create engaging combat sequences with Kythera AI's automated cover generator. Use our default cover types or inject custom classifiers to fit your game’s unique cover mechanics. Generate and find excellent cover positions on the fly for exciting and dynamic combat.

Moving Navigation Meshes

Generate NavMesh and allow characters to easily pathfind on moving platforms. Supports all of our other ground NavMesh features.

Extended Navigation Meshes

Kythera AI provides a unified navigation mesh for all entities in a game, regardless of height, radius, maximum slope traversal, and other constraints.

For example, if some of your entities can swim or wade through water, Kythera now has an extension that encodes the water depth. Our powerful pathfinder will handle any extension required and produce more optimal and natural paths than Recast's A* with string pulling.

Hierarchical Pathfinding

Scalability is one of our core design principles. Our hierarchical pathfinding solution enables long-range concurrent pathfinding and following with hundreds of NPCs.

Hierarchical navigation builds increasingly sparse abstract representations of which parts of the game world are connected. This can be utilised to find paths much more quickly and with less memory usage across large maps, as well as supporting pathfinding across sparsely loaded maps.

Fast and efficient!

Our navigation stack is twice as fast as Unreal and consumes only a fraction of the necessary memory.
